Pinon Hills, CA (May 11, 2026) – A devastating head on collision Saturday night along Highway 18 in Pinon Hills left three people dead and two others seriously injured after a Honda Odyssey and Jeep Wrangler crashed near Minero Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol , the fatal accident occurred around 7:50 p.m. on May 9 along Highway 18, also known as Palmdale Road, near Minero Road. Investigators said a silver Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling eastbound while a black Jeep Wrangler was heading westbound when the two vehicles collided at an unknown speed.
San Bernardino County Fire crews responded and discovered five occupants inside the Honda Odyssey and one person inside the Jeep Wrangler. Emergency responders confirmed three fatalities at the scene, all of whom were occupants of the Honda.
Two additional occupants from the Honda sustained serious injuries and were airlifted from the scene by Mercy Air #22 and Reach Air Medical #43 helicopters to Loma Linda University Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Authorities said the driver of the Jeep Wrangler suffered minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital.
