According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on the northbound 71 Freeway on-ramp near Chino Hills Parkway. Genis, a resident of Chino Hills, was reportedly struck by a vehicle while on the on-ramp. The driver involved did not stop and fled the scene.
