Yolo County, CA (October 22, 2025) – A pedestrian lost his life in a hit-and-run collision involving a big rig Tuesday night in Yolo County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash occurred at around 8 p.m. on October 21 on the southbound side of Interstate 5 near the Interstate 505 junction. A man was reportedly running across the freeway lanes when he was hit by a white semi-truck.
Witnesses told officers that the big rig slowed briefly following the impact but then continued southbound toward Sacramento without stopping. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased shortly after arrival.
