Morro Bay, CA (October 22, 2025) – A solo-vehicle crash late Monday night ended in tragedy when a car went off Highway 41 and burst into flames, killing the driver near Morro Bay.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. on October 21 near Bear Ridge Road, a mountainous stretch of Highway 41 between Atascadero and Morro Bay. Authorities say the driver of a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser was heading southbound when the vehicle left the roadway, plunged down a 350-foot embankment, and ignited upon impact.
