Portland, OR (July 30, 2025) – A high-speed incident involving a stolen vehicle left two pedestrians injured in Northwest Portland on Sunday afternoon, July 27. The suspect, who fled from an attempted traffic stop, was taken into custody shortly after crashing the vehicle.
According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 1:02 p.m. when officers from Central Precinct attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near Northwest 9th Avenue and West Burnside Street. The driver, later identified as 28-year-old Amin Noor Mohamed of Portland, eluded police without pursuit. Minutes later, the vehicle was found crashed at the intersection of Northwest 6th Avenue and Northwest Glisan Street after the driver lost control.
Two pedestrians were hit during the crash. One suffered minor injuries, while the other sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Mohamed was uninjured and arrested at the scene.
He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center and is facing multiple charges, including Assault in the Second Degree, DUII (Drugs), Reckless Driving, and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Injured Persons), among others. The investigation prompted several street closures in the area while the Portland Police Bureau Major Crash Team worked the scene.
