Athens County, OH (January 28, 2025) – A fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer on U.S. 33 claimed the life of 25-year-old Ariann J. Sizemore of Middleport, Ohio, on Tuesday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The accident happened just before 10:30 a.m. west of the southern U.S. 50 split. Authorities reported that a tractor-trailer traveling westbound crossed the median into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with Sizemore’s vehicle. The impact sent the truck through a guardrail and over an embankment.
Emergency responders pronounced Sizemore dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to a hospital for treatment. Their condition has not been disclosed.
Multiple agencies, including the Athens City Police Department, Athens Fire Department, Athens County EMS, and the Ohio Department of Transportation, assisted at the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
