According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at the intersection of State Highway 44 and County Road 338.
Investigators identified the victim as Adam Chapa, 36. Authorities reported that Chapa was driving a 2002 GMC 1500 westbound on State Highway 44 when he stopped to make a left turn onto County Road 338. A westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 50-year-old woman, struck the rear of the GMC.
