According to the New Hampshire State Police, troopers responded to the scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. on January 16. The victim, identified as Everett Martin of Tilton, was working on-site when he was hit by a truck backing up. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 35-year-old Ryan Prescott of Manchester.

Despite immediate efforts from first responders, Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.
