Dover, NH (January 19, 2026) – A 65-year-old construction worker was killed Friday morning after being struck by a reversing pickup truck in an active work zone on Route 16 in Dover.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, troopers responded to the scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. on January 16. The victim, identified as Everett Martin of Tilton, was working on-site when he was hit by a truck backing up. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 35-year-old Ryan Prescott of Manchester.
Despite immediate efforts from first responders, Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The northbound side of Route 16 was partially shut down for over three hours while officials conducted a detailed investigation alongside the Dover Fire Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and OSHA.
No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
